The Diabetes Trust Run The British 10k!

·       Donated directly to the 10k run

On Sunday 6th July our trusted IDDT volunteers will be setting off from Hyde Park Corner to raise much needed funds to help support the needs of people with diabetes.

Last year’s runners did an amazing job of raising money and awareness for Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust (IDDT). This year some of them have returned, accompanied by a couple of new faces, to do the same thing again - Rob Cross, Rita East, Peter King, Lou Kellie, Emma & Dirk Rees and Stewart Simpson.

They are all doing the race with one thing in mind, to raise funds for IDDT so people with diabetes have the support and education they need to live life to the full and avoid diabetes complications such as blindness, amputation, kidney failure and heart problems. Research has shown that the better diabetes education people receive the less likely these complications are to occur.

At IDDT we are helping people of all ages by providing free information packs, leaflets and a 24hr careline. We try our best to help with all aspects of diabetes that can affect people so giving them the opportunity to make informed choices about which treatment suits them best.

This year IDDT has grown hugely, mainly due to the vast range of free comprehensive information we provide. This information has made a huge difference to the lives of thousands of people but here at IDDT, we are very aware that there are still many more thousands of people who could also benefit from our help and information. We want to prevent these people from losing their sight or developing other diabetes complications, so please support our runners and give what you can to support people with diabetes.
