We are an organisation for people
living with diabetes run by people living with diabetes. We
recognise that when one person in a family lives with diabetes, this
affects other family members and we offer support to partners and
parents. We raise awareness of important issues for people with
diabetes and provide information in non-medical language.
Synthetic GM
'human' insulin versus natural animal insulin
Some people have adverse effects when using synthetic GM 'human' insulin
which was introduced without any evidence of benefit. We campaign for
the continued availability of natural animal insulins and believe that
people with diabetes should be an informed choice of treatment including
the risks and benefits of both animal and synthetic GM insulins.
